Providing a pump or well can provide a new, healthy life for up to 40 people in a poor village. All for A$120.00! In Cambodia, 36% of the population earn less than US$1 a day. Of the total population, 80% earn less than US$2 a day, which leaves them unable to provide a sustainable healthy lifestyle for their families

The majority of poor Cambodian families does not have access to a well and must travel on average 3 kms to uncontaminated water that may be up to three hours away by foot. This means that most families have to send a family member out at about 3.00 am to fetch enough water for the family's daily needs. In most instances, families only bathe once or twice a week and then the bath water is used to wash clothes and for cooking, resulting in skin infections, diarrhoea etc. A pump or well makes a huge impact. During times of drought, water can be pumped and used to irrigate the fields. The incidence of diarrhoea and infection is dramatically reduced and home vegetable gardens thrive.

Tabitha Cambodia and Direct Aid Inc. are committed to help break the poverty cycle to enable the Cambodian people to help themselves. 100% of your donation will be spent on providing a specific type of support such as a well or pump for A$120.

Nobody makes a greater mistake than the person who did nothing because they thought they could only do a little.

Edmund Burke
